This volume is part of the renowned series History of the Patriarchs of the Egyptian Church, originally attributed to Severus Ibn al-Muqaffa, Bishop of Al-Ashmunin. The third volume covers the historical accounts of the patriarchs of the Coptic Church from Patriarch Cyril II to Patriarch Cyril V (1135–1895). The publication was issued by the Society of Coptic Archaeology in Cairo in 1970 and forms part of the “Texts and Documents” series.
